There are moments in life that etch themselves into your heart forever. For me, one of those moments came again and again during my wife’s cancer journey.
No matter how many appointments were on the calendar, how many treatments were scheduled, or how uncertain the road ahead looked, she would smile, look at me, and say:
“Forward — gotta keep moving forward.”
It wasn’t just a phrase. It was a way of life. Even in the hardest moments, when most people would have every reason to stop, she chose to press on — with courage, grace, and hope. Her words became our compass, guiding us through the storm.
In the quiet of hospital rooms, in the exhaustion of long nights, and in the waiting rooms where time seemed to stand still, that simple motto carried us. Forward. Because backward wasn’t an option. Forward. Because giving up wasn’t who she was. Forward. Because hope, even when fragile, can light the darkest paths.
After her passing, those words continued to echo in my own life. They shaped how I rebuilt my health, how I found strength again, and ultimately how I chose to serve others walking through their own seasons of caregiving, loss, and renewal.
Forward Wellness Coaching was born from that spirit. It’s more than a business name — it’s a promise. A promise to honor her legacy by helping others find their next step. To remind caregivers and widowed partners that even after the hardest chapters, there is still a way forward.
Because moving forward doesn’t always mean moving fast. Sometimes it’s a deep breath, a walk outside, or choosing to nourish your body with one good meal. Sometimes it’s reaching out for support. And sometimes it’s just having the courage to believe that healing is possible.
Her motto lives on here — in every conversation, every coaching session, and every story of someone who dares to keep moving forward.
